Privacy policy
The details you send us are used to price and carry out your job. This page says exactly what that means.
1. Who we are
Pro Chaps is a painting and decorating business based in London. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the controller of the personal information described on this page. Contact for anything on this page is info@prochapsprofessionaldecorators.co.uk.
2. What we collect
The Quick Quote form asks for your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you need and a description of the job. Sending the form hands those details to your own email application, which delivers them to us as an ordinary email; the website itself does not store them. If you email us directly we hold whatever you choose to include, and any photographs you attach.
If we visit to survey, we may take our own photographs of the surfaces to be worked on. These are used to prepare the quote and plan the job.
3. How it is used
To reply to your enquiry, to prepare and send a quote, to arrange and carry out the work, to invoice for it, and to deal with anything that arises afterwards, such as a snagging visit. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not add you to a mailing list.
4. Lawful basis
Before a job is booked, we process your details because you have asked us to take steps towards a contract (a quote). Once a job is booked, we process them to perform that contract. Keeping records of completed work and invoices is a legitimate interest and, for accounting records, a legal obligation.
5. Who it is shared with
Your details stay within the business. They are shared with a third party only where that is needed to do the job you have asked for: for example a scaffolding company that needs the address, or an accountant who sees invoices. We do not sell or pass on your details for any other purpose. Email is handled by our email provider under their own terms.
6. How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become a job are deleted within 12 months. Records of quoted and completed work, including the correspondence about them, are kept for six years after the job to meet accounting requirements and to deal with any later query about the work. Survey photographs are deleted when the job is closed unless they form part of the quote record.
7. Cookies and embedded maps
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. Some pages embed a Google map to show the area covered. Loading that map sends a request to Google, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. The maps are loaded lazily, so a request is made only when the map scrolls into view.
8. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, and object to a use of it. To do any of these, email us. We reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Questions
